About Val
Val is a practicing attorney with 30 years of experience in corporate, employment, and family law, including trial and appellate litigation. Val has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell®. This rating is reserved for only those lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability.
Val began her legal career at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo, P.C., a large national law firm with its flagship location in Boston. After seven years at Mintz Levin, Val left to pursue her interest in business and technology and to provide in-house general counsel services to various companies. With these experiences, Val designed her firm to provide big firm legal representation to businesses, families, and individuals with a personalized touch at cost-effective prices.
Val lives on the South Shore with her husband and their two children. She is active with pro bono work, volunteer work in her children’s schools, coaching youth sports, and raising money for the Jimmy Fund, a key source of funding for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Val is also a 24-year bike rider in the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC).
Val received her Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science/Statistics from the University of Rochester (1985) and received her Juris Doctor from the Northeastern University School of Law (1991). She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and in the District of Columbia, and before the United States First Circuit and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, United States District Courts for the District of Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, and Massachusetts courts. In selected matters, Val has represented clients in other federal courts in New York and New Jersey.
